Round 5

Big round today before the presumed swap. A swap here would be perfect honestly, I think that things are pretty interesting right now and there is the potential for the dynamics to get so fucked up. A lot of people don't know they're in danger which is good for a swap tbh. The tribes seem pretty parrallel to each other. Two majority alliances(The Buffet and the Te Tapo or whatever guys) With some dissension inside of them. Stephannie completely defecting to the Noobs, while Allie does to the vets. Tai and Missy being the on the outs person who's name has been thrown around but the others are keeping around. War Dog and Rocker having their new teams and people on the other side worrying about them. Laura and Reynold being the kind of on the in but kind of on the outs. Aurora is sort of the odd person out here and I think that if she goes, and we can keep this whole thing moving the way it is we'll have a verry tense swap with an even tenser merge. Depending.

Pukaroa-

Looking to boot Aurora and that's what I want. They could win but that would be less good and I'll explain why on Te Poto. Alphabetically-

Alexis is back to the top of my list. She's phenomenal over there and is still slightly too close to the sun but it's working for her. Everyone seems to trust her. The issue is that it's pretty well known that she's on top here and that will catch up to her. She's almost definitely a merge person but her threat level is elevated by her partnership, one that everyone knows is working. I like her a lot though, it's good to see how her mind works and how she's managing all of these connections.

Aurora has the potential to be entertaining and if she stays I will not be too pressed. I think her leaving makes the most sense to keep things a little tense with out any explosions. If we let more and more tension build up it will explode more heavily and that's what I want. So she's getting pushed out here for me just to keep things moving. I think if she does stay she has a lot of routes she can take, I mean I don't think she's even really in the know that she's out here since she will angle for Tai? Broski nation wants that video confessional though.

Matt is still incredibly positioned but he's had a cooldown round here. He's doing what I thought Sherri was going to do a million times better. The one squandered opportunity though is Missy who he went in deciding he wouldn't like. He's got this team under his thumb sans like Rocker who he's just not giving enough to? But is still in a good spot. He could get fucked on a bad swapped team but all in all I think he's a pretty solid merge contender.

Michael, gotta love the dedication. This guy is putting in dog hours and ever so slightly souring people and I like that. Unlike Shamar when he does something people don't seem to think it's wrong or him and that's cause he probably comes off as genuine. I think he's a killer in here and has fixed his relationship with Jess (who he doesn't even actually care about I don't think?) I feel like is pretty well poised to make the merge here also.

Reynold pleasantly surprised me with how well he's getting some of the people on his side here. He doesn't confess that much and has been cited as not talking as much game but he seems like such a genuine guy so people want him in their pocket. That is a valid strategy if he gets rid of some of those people towards the end. The early game is so different from the merge and I think he's doing enough right now. The thing is that he can get got on a swapped tribe that doesn't favor him. If not then he'll be long for this game for sure.

Rocker blew the fuck up this round for me. I always knew he was good but he is one of the people poised to take the best position in the game here. He has some people who don't love him and that could hurt in a swap but if he makes it past that then he has people on both sides who will pull at him. His essay to Alexis and Shamar did what it intended to and got him in their good graces. He's really playing well and I think his confessionals are informative and sometimes pretty fucking funny. He's one to watch here and I didn't think that would be the case gameplay wise since he's more of a character too. Very impressed here.

Shamar has had a little bit of a cooldown. He's already getting caught up with his stuff and that sort of sucks? Since he's entertaining. He has a good link to Rocker but besides that everyone even in his alliance sort of sees him as a skeezeball which will catch up to him. He is also not even attempting to really use his partnership so if he gets swapped over with some people that aren't his people then he's kind of fucking boned tbh. He's still fun to watch but he needs to do soemthing different or he will get hit. Stay Tuned!

Stephannie has completely flipped away from her vet counterparts besides Wardog but I don't think they know that yet. The noobs seem in awe of her a little bit but also want to work with her so she is going to be a humongous threat moving forward. The issue is that you aren't going to be able to hide it too much. I like that she took what little she had going on and really did a lot for herself in regards to making a name for herself as a pseudo HBIC. She likely hits merge and will be targeted soon after just for being as amazing as she is. I like that she knows they should lose her. I hope she acts on it.

Sherri is still doing fine. Some people want to meet her, others are working with her but she's not even really anyones top dog? Which is kind of a problem. She didn't tell Reynold about the idol and he found out so he trusts her less too. I think that Matt is just doing her job a little bit better here. She's obviously got a good pulse on her team at the very least and I don't think anyone comes for her here but it might end up being a problem later when people have to let other people go? She might not have everyone backing her up in a swap. If she makes merge then she has a lot of room to play though. I don't think she'll let them get her here.

Tai is doing very well for himself here. He took a shit position and really made something good for him and I'm happy he did. He also pretty much definitely deflected from the Vets and made a lot of good inroads with the noobs. I love his relationship with Laura as they are both sort of low key and are definitely in the realm of being trustworthy. He is scrappy and I am all about his continued survival but he definitely will fall if he hits the wrong swap here.

Te Poto-

These guys are being kind of fucking dumb here lol but I'm for it. I want them to win because I think that everyone here can provide some entertainment and also if they do lose then some people are going to be pissed when they boot Steph. Why make a move like that right before a swap?

Allie is sort of cooling down. I still love her takes because it's a little nutty and definitely self serving but she is crawling up the vet butthole as much as she can. It's good though, there needs to be some opposition to the alliance on her former tribe and she is thinking about the small things like getting liz to say hey to Alexis (someone she didn't even like) for that future swap that may or may not be coming. I just think she's letting other people sort of decide her fate here and that's fine because it will get her to the next phase. Still a big fan.

Elizabeth is showing that she doesn't have the full picture here a little bit. She is driving this steph boot tonight. I get where she's coming from, she wants to keep missy who is promising to work with her to the merge at the very least. The thing is that you're going to piss off SO MANY PEOPLE by doing it. And we might swap here. Missy doesn't actually want to be with you dude, she will not enable you to win this game. So don't make a move that'll get half the cast angry when you could just cut your loses over someone you KNOW is volatile. You know she will want you out. But I get wanting your cake and to eat it to. It's just that you could wait another round or two to get Steph. She doesn't even want her out really I just don't get it.

Hope had the round of her life here. Lots to unpack. First off the plan to try and pry Jess and Liz apart and put herself firmly in there. Amazing. It will cause drama whether it works or not. I love how much effort she put in here to get herself up out of the hole. She is showing a lot of game and self awareness, and she is pretty well poised to be THE noob that is able to get with some of the older noobs on her tribe. And that's from barely getting past a round one boot. I was sleeping on her at first but my eyes have been opened and I can't wait to continue to see her be fiery and actually damn good at the game on top of it.

Jed is still on coast mode here and he should be. He's doing well enough in that no one actually wants him out and there are bigger fish to fry in his alliance. He's sort of the face of that group for me though since that seems to be his main plan. I think that as his allies start falling around him he's going to have to audible and make something else happen which I'm here for. He can be such a likable/rootable non crazy if he starts struggling a little bit.

Jessica I could just copy and paste Liz's thing tbh. I think this move is even worse for her honestly because she doesn't have the noob brigade to fall back on like Liz does. Why does she give a fuck about Missy hanging around? But she's going to make some people mad, leaving her open to an ax here at the swap which is just kind of dumb. I say that knowing that's exactly what I did in winners  But she even said she knows that making a move is about timing and for no reason here so like what the fuck dude. I really, really like her here and want her to succeed but this is just inhibiting her ability to do so.

Laura is cute here but isn't as active it seems? I dunno, I'm for her here because her and Tai have a good relationship to follow and same with her and Hope. I think that she's taking the relationship across team and milking it for all that it's worth and her and Tai should be bonding over being in the not best spot on their original team. She's done very well for herself though she's a fringe so she could end up being expendable but if she isn't then I can just see her continuing to improve. The swap (if it comes) will be rough for her.

Missy is just sort of crazy and angry for no reason? She did one good thing and that's suck Liz's dick enough to want her to keep her around but she's been pretty low key except for when she's mad that the other tribe doesn't do whatever she wants them to do lol. She's also kind of boned because Matt doesn't want to work with her. Her choices are very limited so she's making the most with what she has and she did rope in the noobs a hell of a lot. I know now writing this that their team lost so good for her on not going home but if she keeps being just angry and not actually gameplay crazy then I'm not super invested tbh.

Stephanie- Likely going home here with an idol in her pocket which sucks. She was doing fine and just got got because she wasn't in enough and they want to hurt Jed or something? I like the idea of her getting booted when she has the idol to play but even if she does she doesn't have the foresight to get rid of someone who isn't missy so... yeah. I think that War Dog is going to be pissed pissed here and this is not the smartest thing for everyone making the move besides the noobs who are denting in to the vets already weak infrastructure.

War Dog is actually in a very, very good spot if he keeps playing his cards right. He's a little cocky but cautious but in the same vein as Rocker he has people who will want him from all over the game. Which is awesome for him. That's if he doesn't get fucked in the swap though. Which he definitely could because people are burning him now. If he makes merge he no shit becomes a contender since he's inoffensive so far and is willing to play hard. I have always liked the fact that he's self serving and I think that in this game it's only going to benefit him. Especially in a merge that will be as tense as this game has been.
__

***I want to note here that I say all of this shit coming from a high and mighty place like I'm some strategic god but a lot of what I'm faulting people for is for making mistakes that I've made in the past. I already said this but the liz Jess move, I did the same shit last time I was on stranded and promptly got got for it. So if I'm shitting on you then just know that you suck but that I ALSO suck too so we can suck together, ty.

Holy shit nu nu Pukaroa is all over the place. Allie wants Jed or Reynold, Jed wants Stephannie, Liz wants Wardog. I thought it was going to be two groups of four in Sherri/Matt/Reynold/Stephannie vs Allie/Liz/Jed/Laura sort of since the two noobs on the right were excluded from the og tribe and know about it but obviously it's a lot messier. I wonder how much Reynold is willing to stick his neck out for Jed here and vice versa cause if Allie is like lets boot him then the noobs could potentially turn him on her here. War Dog isn't out of the woods by any means but if we get some overplaying he may have some life yet.

END OF WEEK 1

I was really excited for these two teams to duke it out, mostly to see what ended up happening on Nu Nu Pukaroa because of there strange split but now that the dust has settled it sounds like we're going to have a pretty boring couple of rounds here until the merge. I think that things being pretty basic here is going to lead to a lot of personalities clashing come the merge but it seems sort of bland for right now. I'll probably go a little more in depth on everything when we start having actual names tomorrow but I wanted to post something right now. I will start highlighting some things so it stops looking like a large wall of text :)

Te Poto-

This team was always going to be pretty basic in that Tai was going to go home. He didn't have the makeup to really do any damage and for close to no reason has all the vets hating on him. He also is on the team with Michael who didn't care too much about him on the old team so the noobs he got stuck with didn't really help either. If he got like Laura then maybe but the nail in his coffin really is him getting called back to work. He may survive a single round because Missy has typed in public that she wants to quit because she can't handle the stress and will only talk to some people? I get having lapses in judgement but she really should have started that with just us seeing so that there wasn't really a problem. She was doing very well for herself and had a good spot here where she likely would have been fine so it's upsetting to see her go out that way. That already brings us down to 16 though with just two more to leave before we merge.

I just watched Aurora's video confessional saying the easy Tai vote was a set up to vote her out. lol. She's out of her mind. But yeah she's probably tentatively in trouble here? I'm talking after Tai and Missy since this team may end up losing all their challenges looking at the cast. Rocker is in tight with Shamar/Alexis/Jess here and Jess would likely want to pull in Michael (as would Alexis and Shamar) so I wouldn't be surprised if they try and drop her. Actually, Hope could also be in trouble here. I expect that those five will work together on this team tightly. I know that Rocker needs to fix his relationship with Michael here but they both have noted that so I don't see a way that any of those people go home. This team is sort of already set IMO. And it would not be the worst thing for them to lose a bit to make that happen. Especially if Tai and Missy do drop in activity as much as they claim.

Pukaroa

These guys are a little bit more complicated and I think it would be best for them to go to ONE tribal council. Hopefully that tribal would be the one right before the merge too because I think that Liz and Jed are lazer focused on getting rid of a returnee and that would really shake them up if they didn't get their way. I was worried for War Dog at the start of this team but I think that Reynold/Sherri/Matt are pretty obviously running this show and they've already shown that they intend to work with Stephannie here who is going to fight for War Dog. He was also on the outs and is out for blood. The only thing that could taint that is going to be Liz trying to force their hands to get rid of the person left over on their blindside. If she can do that then I am going to completely eat my words about that being a bad move because they cleaned up very, very well. Additionally, for SOME REASON everyone in the game seems to think it's MISSY'S FAULT?!!? And she was like owning up to it. So good on Liz and Jess. They really put in some work there.

I think it would be smart for them to scoop up War Dog because he has no one outside of like Rocker and Steph wanting to work with him if Tai goes. He's just looking for a home right now. And if they do vote out an Allie or a Laura here then how mad can Liz REALLY be. She has an alliance with them, not the other two noobs. Now if they do push out Jed then that's different and they would be making an enemy so one of the noobs would likely be better. I think that Allie is the most likely candidate and they're really snowing her in to thinking she's alright here. Her confesh said their energy was so good when they're trashing her behind her back and would probably cut her easy. I don't know if she didn't think Sherri was in the in on the old team? I'll have to reread her stuff but yeah, she's in a very dangerous spot here and she just doesn't see it. People still calling her a gamebot though <3 I still like the fact that she's game oriented and that it's rubbing some people wrong so I hope she keeps kicking. Laura is apparently less active, I don't really know what's up with that but I'm ready to get her thoughts here. She will likely hurt from this swap no matter what because she will either go herself or she will live and lose Tai and maybe even Hope. I wonder how she will do digging upwards.

____
My favorite pairing in the game is Matt/Sherri for sure. I hope they continue succeeding. I said this in the podcast but literally everyone is sleeping on Johnny Rocks and I expect him to be a big player. I don't know his character or his last season or whatever but he is doing the right things here and is definitely playing hard to win. He will hit in losing Missy but he has some good relationships and is not threatening enough to be dealt with by some of the bad ones. I am excited to watch him at merge. Plus his confessionals are always killer.

This season still has a ton of personalities. The Buffet alliance is still completely safe on both teams (lol) but I think that in a merge Liz would be smart to rat them out so they don't just steamroll to an obvious Matt or Sherri win. If they do push out one of Liz's allies here then she might be more inclined.

Elizabeths comics are hilarious. Especially Allie's lol man those guys hate that girl so much. But I like how it shows us how she views them because some of those are pretty fucking off compared to like a hosts point of view. It shows she hasn't grasped that the noobs are actually playing this insanely well.

Almost all these vets are in the same vain I find lol. When merge comes, a lot of vets might be surprised at the power these newbies yield. Assuming no major power shifts happen between now and then, that is.

Besides the legend johnny rock who is on the case there. I wonder how long they'll be able to play off though? I have to think that Stephannie see's they're actually good shit too so i dunno.

Shamar is participating so green is fucked :) Though tbh they're both very unprepared for this which is always good entertainment.

Few things to note. I love that Allie is crazy gamebotty and she was paired up with Aurora who is just regular crazy. I hope they both survive so that when Allie tries to use her later it shorts her circuits a little bit but that pairing is hilarious. I don't love how the noobs are seemingly kind of willing to let go of Stephannie? I would expect them to fight more for her. Also Stephannie is pretty ready to get rid of War Dog which I don't love since they're pretty much evening out the numbers with the people on green 2.0. Kinda sucks. War Dog hasn't been doing the right stuff it seems but I really don't want anyone on that team to leave sans like Laura I guess so hopefully they just win a bit. No clue what happens on Te Poto after Tai loses now that missy is back to wanting to play. The week should be pretty hectic.

I forgot to say that Liz getting upset with Jed makes sense for her but not so much for him. Ofc he wants Sherri out of here man I mean he doesn't have that link. He's gonna be in trouble here in a little bit probably and idt she sees that.

Round 7

Not gonna go crazy here but I haven't ranked in a while so we'll do that. Waiting on confessionals from a few people but it sounds like green is still the same and pink is pretty simple.

Te Poto- Still a tai boot. He hasn't been around and won't be able to be too much. Some wanted to throw to boot him. Hope they lose so their dynamic becomes more interesting.

1 Michael- Skeezy, love the backstory and overall confessional updates, definitely killing it
2 Jessica- She cares. A lot. I like that. She's going to continue to take up space and do what she wants and I'm about it.
3 Alexis- Still strong and on top of the world ally wise. Definitely a merge contender and big threat which I respect.
4 Hope- Will be pissed about losing Laura and I hope it lights a fire up under her cause she can be really big if so.
5 Rocker- I don't really care about the throw like everyone else does lmfao Jed did the same thing and we forgot after a day. I like him, still like his updates and his spot.
6 Missy- Slowly losing her mind as her public quitting post indicates. I'm ready for this at merge. Definitely bat shit crazy.
7 Shamar- Kids just been on a cool down. I don't really know where he fits in but I hope he figures it out. He needs to set some distance between some bigger names and make a name for him come merge
8 Aurora- cooldown for her. Waiting for the crazy.
9 Tai- hasn't been around which isn't his fault cause work but I'm ready for him to go if he doesn't have the time.

Pukaroa-
Pretty obvious Noobs + Stephannie majority with a little War Dog on the side. Not the best look for Allie, Jed and Elizabeth. Allie most likely to get got here unless they want to take a stab at Liz because Jed has Reynold and they have the old Buffett with Liz. I hope they win a few.

1 Stephannie - Still killing things, got in a good spot despite some people after her and is very relatable in her overall paranoia.
2 Allie- Trying to play as hard as possible and is coming off slightly delusional but I love it. Lol at her thinking she would get Laura's coins. It seems like no one really wants to work with her but like they want to work with her. Weird.
3 Sherri - She's got complete control here outside of Jed on her but it's not like anyone is going to allow him to get what he wants.
4 Elizabeth - She didn't get her way this time and that makes her more rootable imo. She is in a tough spot here but I don't think she really sees it. Hopefully she sniffs out to play her idol if they do come for her.
5 Jed - I understand why some people think he's a little bit hard to like here but he is right to be frustrated in not getting things his way. He is very, very unprotected here and might fall cause of it so of course he pushes for a Sherri here.
6 War Dog- Is safe to no fault of his own but I think he'll be entertaining come the merge so I want him to keep going. He's the least connected person in the game rn and got a pretty good swap for himself. Get that revenge boyo.
7 Matt- Had a cooldown round this round which is fine. He will sky rocket soon and is still the social game god but is just falling a little bit off for me.
8 Reynold- I don't have a problem with Reynold, he's doing fine for himself he just doesn't confess as much as the rest. I expect him to be a big player people will want to use come merge. He doesn't strike me as bloodthirsty though, maybe I'm wrong.

I really don't hate anyone left in the cast which can lead to a good merge here. I hope that the noobs don't win out due to all the vet crazies but honestly they might lol. I think that makes us like them less but I can't say it wouldn't be deserved. I'm hopeful that Elizabeth and Jed getting shafted on Pukaroa will help make them realize that the noobs are as cohesive as they are. I think that regardless they will be in the majority at the merge because Reynold, Michael, Matt, Shamar, Sherri, Stephannie, War Dog are sort of on their own island ever so slightly. They will have conflicting wants but I bet they can decide on a name or two at the start of it.

I think my rankings would have shifted already here lol, should have waited until today. Notes from today that I'm impressed by:

Shamar is really starting to think a little bit mischievously. I think he's let himself cool down enough to where people aren't not trusting him and I like his idea of wanting to pin some shit on Rocker. AND his idea of letting Hope know that they were after her first eventually. He's going to be someone to watch in the merge because despite the noobish feel he definitely wants to cause some damage.

Rocker really did piss everyone off yesterday. I'm surprised but he's in some shit here and is now where the vote is being split. No hope for Tai here it seems but I think it's good for him to go here anyways.

Missy is delusional and I'm for it. She makes merge with out a doubt in this group for whatever reason and will definitely continue to be batshit crazy in that setup too. Love the false confidence ofc.

Pukaroa will be interesting. I think Allie is gone if they lose tonight but I wouldn't be surprised to see a Jed push and I don't REALLY think that he see's that as an option? I want them to win a little bit because of Tai's reduced ability to be here but we will see about all that.

What a fucking round over there on Pink. They are slowly thinning out the people who they can get rid of and Jed was at least semi competent at challenges. I think Liz is going to be even more drained after tonight. I hope she can find a second wind here because this game IS supposed to be hard and she has the tools to make something happen. I
