What do Gossip Girl and Bridgerton have in common? Both have equally uninspired plots that clearly look to achieve the excellence that Kara's Korner will uphold. It started off as my way to bitch about my fellow competitors and how incompetent I believed the majority of them to be (love you all), but for the first time, Kara's Korner is being transformed into a lurkers blog!

long story short, work is picking back up on this side of the world so I will be leaving my comments, my concerns, things i love, things I hate, and all of the above inside of Kara's Korner as I please. Haven't fully, properly lurked a season yet but will definitely be doing my best to keep up with what's going on and leave some commentary.

AND OH, the best part. Each subject will include a Taylor Swift ( ) song that relates to/reflects my feelings on the events the most. I expect you all to listen to each song and increase the quality of your music taste.

SUBJECT: THE CASTING OF A CHEATER

Missy is probably one of the most popular names to come out of the last stranded season and for well... all the wrong reasons. Everyone knows the cheating scandal and I'm also positive the majority of her tribe is aware of it all as well. It's a controversial casting for sure, but I honestly think it's a good one. Nobody is going to wholeheartedly believe the story Missy and Co put forth, and many will assume they broke the integrity of the game, which is fair. But this is a second chances season, so giving Missy her second chance and pretty much leaving her fate up to peers who respect the integrity of the game is a good decision to me. It'll be interesting to see how all that drama boils into this game. Do Jessica and Elizabeth disassociate and go after her to remove any sort of "tanz strong" view of that trio? Do people pull her along because there is no way a cheater will get votes in the end? I'm excited to see how her journey unfolds here.

To The Lurkers: I say we cut her a little slack, Elizabeth will do all the abusing she deserves. What are your thoughts on this casting!? How would you use her in the game? To your advantage or as an easy target?

Verdict: She may regret signing up, but her tribe is full of crazies so who knows!?

Great first read and I tend to agree with what you are saying. I actually think the alums have been really fair with Missy so far and her fate is in her own hands. Do I want her to fail spectacularly? Hell yeah, but I want that to be on her terms.

SUBJECT: QUEEN ELIZABETH

She's probably the most popular returnee and overall player in this season because she's well... iconic. I've only ever played with Elizabeth but her showing last time in stranded was very strong until she got voted out as the lurkers have said. I was curious as to whether or not she'd be cast bc she played the last two seasons (iso & tanz) but I am SOOOO glad she's apart of this cast and I'm probably most excited to watch her. She had a good position on her returnee tribe but getting the public immunity and switching over probably puts her in the best position, considering she's able to bond with the newbies. The newbs seem pretty smart so far so I imagine they won't look at her as a huge threat considering she's a second-chancer, but her gameplay last season was very solid so it's a mistake to underestimate her and put her at the level of the rest of the losers.

So far, a lot of the newbies like her, and she's kickstarted the game talk on the newbies' side w peeps like Alexis and Michael. She's positioning herself pretty well imo and I don't see her being the first boot or even in consideration to be, I actually think she may be able to grasp more control here than she would've on the returnees' tribe.

To The Lurkers: Are we all Elizabeth stans? If you were a newbie would you try and flush her idol out round 1?

If she makes it through to merge without playing it, that's when you start looking at it, agreed. But there's so much possibility of her needing to use it in a swap, etc, that I'd play nice for now and not try to make her play it.

And if I were in Liz's position? I think I'd feel okay saving it right now. If they were shutting her out of game talk, then okay yeah, play it. But people are talking game with her and I think she can tell it's genuine? She knows the rhythm of the game and has a good intuition there.

SUBJECT: SHAMAR THE STAR

Shamar is my winner pick and honestly, I wouldn't have picked him if I had gotten up on time- I think he was the last newbie left but I have to say I am very pleasantly surprised with how he's been playing socially here! I think he may be a true dark horse down the road if he can flick on a strategic side to himself- and maybe have longer conversations with people. Everybody seems to like him and to want to work with him but not as much as somebody like Alexis, which is good because he'll probably be less of a threat when it comes time to voting decisions and voting out players with big presences. He's been very good with talking about things his tribemates like and relating to them through that ie. Talking with Liz about strip clubs- he's looking like he can get along with anyone!!

He's a little delusional with his women's alliance plan?? Like I don't think it's smart to have a gameplan that is soooo specific and dependent on everyone else's actions- I hope he doesn't push that too far bc anyone with a good read will probably sniff it out.

To The Lurkers: You liking how Shamar's going about things thus far? Are we Shamar stans? bc, I am!

Verdict: He's great, and it's very early but he's in a good spot rn- probably the spot I'd like to be in- I can see him going p deep if he keeps this up- hoping he can get online a bit more so he doesn't miss any key conversations!

Definitely a Shamar fan here - I think he's playing more to form relationships right now than gather numbers, which is something I personally think pays off long term.

He's playing a smart early real UTR game. He is in good with everyone and can fold in with however the numbers fall and still be in a great spot. I love what he is doing and it's what I try and fail to do out of the gate when I play. Big fan!!

SUBJECT: PARTNERS?

Woah woah woah. Two fun tribals and a tribe swap + the introduction of a new twist? I'm in LOVE with this season like a real deep love. It was an insane first weekend and it's only going to get more insane as there is now NEWB + LOSER pairings, gosh I am so here for this. It's late so this Korner will be a quick rundown on the pairs I like the best/ have the most potential to me as of right now. Right now being before anything has happened really.

Brandon & Rocker
I like this pairing? Rocker is probably the better of the two here and not as outlandish as Brandon and honestly, I'm just here for how funny these conversations will be. Not sure how far they could get but both are in good spots rn? Kind of even playing field in my eyes

Laura & Tai
I find them very cute idk. Tai was funny when he asked if anyone was going to whisper to him during tribal, and Laura's been pretty on the social connections early on which is probably the best move for right now and Tais threat level is low enough that I see him coasting to the merge where they could both reunite.

Allie & Aurora
S/t about Allie is very likable for me (probably her great reads and takes on what's going on) and Aurora is riding where she should in terms of the returnees. Allie carries the weight of this pairing for me, meaning that I expect more out of her going forward but if she can sit back and analyze I see her being the best at giving information to her partner.

There is one pairing I absolutely think will not see the reward of lasting and that is Alexis and Elizabeth Both big presences. Probably both make merge but it'll be a big struggle beyond that especially because it won't take much to find out they're partnered up really. They'd both be better off with different partners but we'll see how it goes. I do see Alexis maybe rising to the top of the new pukarora tribe if she wishes to, but that probably hurts her more than helps her.

To The Lurkers: Favorite pairing? Pairing you think are doomed/don't have a chance at getting that immunity?
