Episode 05: Don't Tell Me How I Feel, You Turd. - Stranded in Tuamotus
-- 5th Place - 10th Juror - Voted Out 3-2 --
#57809
5 down. 19 More to go.

1- The first Veteran to leave the game since the mandatory first council. Is the playing field leveling out and becoming a true competition?

2- What was your role in the boot and why was it the best decision for your game, if so? if not?

3- Does tonight's boot change your long term plan or solidify it? Are you willing to work with anyone in this game? Have you reached out to the people outside of your current alliances, kept your options open?

4 - What intel has your partner given you about the other tribe, and who would you like to work with on it going forward?

See you tomorrow ! :moon:

I just had a realization about the challenge. Why didn't we just have one person count? That would have been a lot faster, you can count a number every 4-5 seconds if it's just you lol.... maybe that wasn't allowed though idk. Whatever too, because we can't dwell on the past anyway. Also losing and getting to follow through with that vote was for the best anyway. I'm glad we did in a sense. That vote may not have been possible in a different configuration - OG Te Poto, for instance.

1- The first Veteran to leave the game since the mandatory first council. Is the playing field leveling out and becoming a true competition?

Yeah. It's helping to blur the lines for everyone. Words are one thing, but following through on a vote builds actual trust. Granted it's the outcome I had been wanting here, and I'm a vet... so on my end it didn't change my outlook, but I'm sure it's making things game-wide feel less divided/dichotomous for everyone.

2- What was your role in the boot and why was it the best decision for your game, if so? if not?

So that dynamic was my goal as soon as we landed on this tribe, and all six of OG Puka were super friendly. In my earlier updates too, y'all know I had been willing that into motion all week. Not to take credit obviously, it was much more of a natural thing, I'm not pretending to have pulled any strings.... it was a lot about who Puka talked to the least. But I felt it leaning that direction all week like I said, and did everything I could in my conversations - subtly or not depending - to keep it that way.

And then I pushed for it hardcore. Puka had numbers and didn't intend on turning, that's fine. But I love them all and didn't want any of them out either. So I didn't control anything, but me being super on board and enthusiastically outlining more reasons for her to go probably helped.

3- Does tonight's boot change your long term plan or solidify it? Are you willing to work with anyone in this game? Have you reached out to the people outside of your current alliances, kept your options open?

Solidifies. Again not taking too much credit, but I got what I wanted. I feel really good about this tribe. My vague goal right now is to dismantle the old "majority" from Te Poto... something like a Stephanie or Jed boot would be great to see next. Or Aurora who I do enjoy and like a lot, but now she's at the bottom on this tribe and.... following all of the "I'm sticking to the plan" stuff I'm always going to want all of those people out lol. Not even for personal reasons. It was just sketchy and unnecessary. Why be cryptic in front of your own tribe when we're doing a tiebreaker vote? So yeah.

And I'm keeping my options open I guess? I don't have any set alliance beyond the me/Matt/Tai thing. Everything else is more about who I like and those individual bonds. Which means, yeah, I feel like I'm always going to have options. On this tribe, and beyond.

4 - What intel has your partner given you about the other tribe, and who would you like to work with on it going forward?

Well, yeah, I don't know.

I'd love to continue breaking up, like, Jess, Jed, Steph, Missy... But I like some of them individually too. So as long as more of them leave soon, I'll never be totally closed off to working with some from that group in theory. Jess especially we had a really good bond, at least I think we did!

But given how much I love many folks on this tribe... Tai, Sherri, Alexis, Reynold, Matt, Michael, and Rocker though I'm always a bit unsure about his standing..... and on a personal level I do like Aurora, and find Shamar fun too.... yeah. Like my feelings on this tribe are much better than the last. I'm not closed off to anything, but it would also be tough to imagine not playing with many of these folks long term.

Weirdly we've talked less game than some of the other "Fans", but something about Reynold is just.... I'm drawn to it? Lol. Idk I vibe with his energy and weirdly feel the most bonded to him because we just, like, idk... we click even when we're posting random shit and it feels really natural. So again we've talked less overt game, but I think I like him the most and already want to go the long haul with him.

Hearing from Puka that the vets on the other tribe are ~shocked and appalled~ at the result.

Yeah. I didn't and don't want to be stank, but some of old Puka put it best this morning. Did they just... expect to get their way and steamroll just because? From an observers perspectives it comes off as entitled even if it's subconscious.

If I had any doubts that they were all together - even if just subconsciously - this confirms my fears. Like. The group who all played recently and know each other - and who held me/Tai/etc at an arms length for no reason - are coincidentally on the same page? And mortally offended that Hannah left despite the fact that she's been quieter?

Telling indeed! Glad we're clipping it asap.

Anyway I spilled everything to a lot of OG Puka today. They know all the dynamics of old Te Poto... and maybe they're just telling me what I want to hear, but they seem equally concerned.

I want to win the challenge, but I also feel like it would be bad if we won and they got rid of another "Fan." Or even worse, Wardog? No idea what the dynamics are like over there but I'm assuming the worst.

Like part of me almost feels it would be better long-term if we lost again and got rid of Aurora. Of course I'll be trying my best in the challenge, I don't want to lose or attend TC any time soon, but I'm just talking out loud.
