One player down, 17 remain!

1. On Thursday, we had a tribe swap and then a long weekend. Who did you spend the weekend bonding with? Is there anyone you feel much closer to than before?

2. At surface level, Te Poto dominated the last challenge, time-wise. Does challenge strength way into the way you would vote, going forward? How have you approached challenges this season?

3. A new idol was hidden at your tribe camp. Have you decided to hunt for it? If so, where have you been looking?

Happy Monday! The start of another week, and you know what? A long pre-merge is stressful at the time, but once we get there officially it's going to feel that much more earned. I've checked previous seasons and I'm seeing the longest pre-merges are typically 9 rounds... so I guess that means three more singles and a merge at 14? Though I wouldn't rule out a "both tribes are voting" twist in the near future which would bring us to 13 instead. Either way, we're close. Not close enough, but close.

1. On Thursday, we had a tribe swap and then a long weekend. Who did you spend the weekend bonding with? Is there anyone you feel much closer to than before?

I talked with Elizabeth the most over the weekend. Which is good... she has a lot of power with her idol. Less power now that we got our way on the Laura vote, but yeah. We talked a lot and now I feel a lot closer to her than someone like Jed. And game aside I like her too.

We also solidified that four-way Puka 2.0 thing. It's my #1 priority here. Like for me it's that straightforward... I like them all a lot and want to work together. I trust the guys, and Sherri too, but I'm less convinced she doesn't have more deals going on. She gives off ORGy vibes? Maybe I'm wrong. But to be safe that's why I don't ask as much personal shit about jobs/etc. because I don't want to accidentally "figure out" who it is. But in theory she would know who I am since the Vets are open ID... and I'm always polarizing, so lol, that could go either way.

Wardog is with us now in theory too. However, we didn't talk a ton over the weekend. He was at the bottom on Te Poto though and the fact that his name came up again bodes well for us... so this tribe should now be 5-3, without. Liz, Allie, or Jed suspecting anything. Or maybe they will suspect it, but they can't do much now unless Liz wants to use her idol in the pre-merge.

Speaking of Allie and Jed. Some of my allies are calling Allie "crazy" or "scary" but personally... I think she's just been upfront. She was a leader in the challenge too and sat with us practicing all afternoon. I've also had some great non-game talks with her. Then regarding Jed.... with me it's always been so surface level. And we still barely talk. But last night was another vote where he was clear about his intentions, and it didn't involve wanting me out, so who knows. But I'm still super unsure how to feel about him. He would be my ideal vote if we lost again I think, but I feel like I may be alone in that.

2. At surface level, Te Poto dominated the last challenge, time-wise. Does challenge strength way into the way you would vote, going forward? How have you approached challenges this season?

See. I knew we should have started at :08. And that's not me lying or stating something retroactively. I had it typed out a few times in the tribe chat "it would technically be faster to start on :08 because..." but then I'd delete it because we were struggling enough with the initial timings <3 and I figured getting it right would have been better than changing it and confusing everyone. Plus Liz told me the other tribe failed the challenge so I was under the impression it wouldn't matter anyway, but maybe they bluffed. And... yeah, all of that said, it took us four tries so we would have lost regardless.

Anyway. I don't think they're better than us at challenges necessarily. Alexis was good, Tai was solid... but I don't recall the others being challenge beasts? And I never ran anything with Missy or Jess but idk... my gut tells me they're not challenge forces either.

Overall I've been labeled as "best at challenges" I feel at this point. Because of the Puzzle, and then the Hot Tamale win. I mean I've just been trying my best lol. Truthfully too, I don't see myself as someone who is particularly good at challenges..... I'm slow at mazes, bad at word scrambles, my internet upload speed is horrific, and counting or posting in order type of thing makes me unnecessarily stressed lol..... so when we get to the merge, that label may be concerning lol. I might be coming in with a bit of an exaggerated "challenge beast" target or label. That I won't live up to, and "omg she didn't win let's get her when we have the chance" could become a thing lol.

3. A new idol was hidden at your tribe camp. Have you decided to hunt for it? If so, where have you been looking?

I should be looking. I should have bought the clue and all of that, but I'm not and I didn't. Because I bought the first clue then never looked.... idk. I know I should be more proactive about these idols, but yeah. I guess another part of my approach is trying to be adaptable and chill. To create a dynamic where I wouldn't have to worry about idols anyway... I feel like staying calm is a self-fulfilling prophecy type of thing. And getting stressed or paranoid does the same in reverse.

That's way too idealistic though. I can talk am I want, but an idol is an idol and I'm behind the curve lol.

Well we got our way <3 Liz was the bigger threat I feel, but personally I have a much better relationship with her than Jed so like... blindsiding her.... would have made sense as far as idols go, but it would be keeping Jed over someone I like a lot. I know it's a game. But I mean that extends to strategy too.

Also I seriously did have to work throughout all of that. Debugging/troubleshooting with several teams until 10pm... which, typically, I'm fine with and it's whatever. But not when the challenge was something I'm good at.

We would have won if I was helping. And I don't even mean to say that as an arrogant thing. But I've played that kind of puzzle for fun and I'm really good at logic. Oh well. I just feel bad too for not being around during the scrambling to help out my allies, but we got shit done so eh.
